International Light Festival @ Guangzhou 2017

Well, this had happened like over a year ago, and I only get to express a little on this blog until now. I was previously working in Nanning, China back in 2015 until 2018, and I didn't get chances to explore the beauty of great China due to occupancy of my work and inflexibility my job had offered. Well, you all know when people didn't get a chance to do something, there's always be excuses, and I'm making no exception right here, LOL.

As the matter of fact, due to the excuses I've made, that was my first time heading outside of Guangxi Province in my 3 years of work in Nanning, so that's quite a precious memory to me like a person who had been trapped somewhere for 3 years and finally gets to see the light.

China has been well-known for the extremely populated country with a population above 1.4 billion. Yeah I know this is not a figure for bluffing, I've personally experienced how unbelievably crowded the cities can be, and you are more easily experience such a thing when you're attending an event such as the Light Festival in Guangzhou. In order to get to the center of the event, where it gives you the centric and most beautiful view of the light, you need to take the subway from every corner of Guangzhou that the subway network has covered, to Haixinsha Station, and here came the shock. I wasn't able to step down from the cabin, stuck there for over 10 minutes, needless to say how long it took me for getting out of the station, that's was indeed a nightmare.

So take my advise, if you happen to or plan to attend the Light Festival in Guangzhou in the future. Take the APM Line to Huacheng Avenue or Grand Theatre, and take a little walk toward Haixinsha Island, which is less than 10-minute walking distance to the Haisinsha Island. It is totally worth the effort as you are able to capture most of the most beautiful buildings in Guangzhou, passing by one of the most beautifully designed shopping mall (K11), experience the magnificence of Grand Theatre, Museum and Library of Guangzhou along the way and could avoid being squeezed into jerky by the crowd. So why not?

PS: If you drag the map vertically a little above, you'll see where the Huacheng Avenue and Grand Theatre Station are located along APM Line.

Speaking of which, there's an organization called International Light Festival Organization, which has been uniting European and worldwide light festivals, I'm not quite sure if the Light Festival in Guangzhou has something to do with this organization, probably sharing the same thoughts for having such an event or whatever. Now turning back to the core topic of this article, Guangzhou Light Festival, which is obviously a light exhibiting festival held annually along the Pearl River in the City of Guangzhou.

This festival occurs every November since 2010 when the 16th Asian Games had left may lighting facilities on the ground of the event at Haixinsha, which is an island that holds the opening ceremony of 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Most importantly, this is admission free, so feel free to attend the festival whenever you want.

Haixinsha has been redesigned as Asian Game Theme Part after the Asian Games in 2010 which opens to the public and treated as one of the best tourism spots in Guangzhou as it offers a tremendous view of the heart of Guangzhou, having the Canton Tower, Pearl River, Huacheng Square all under your sight.

The Light Festival in Guangzhou comes not only with fascinating light projection from all its major and famous buildings, but also spiced up with dynamic and inspiring music that show the beauty of Guangzhou to the world.
